Back in the saddle again...

In the grand tradition of... well... me, it's been like a thousand years since I last wrote in my blog. To save time and extreme boredom I'm just going to give you my patented "Five-Point Rundown of Stuff I've Been Up To™". So here it is -

1. Work. As in "-ing my ass off". The guy who took over my job quit with no notice (not to say I mind to see the back of him - wretched creepy mouthbreather that he was. If I ever see that guy on the street he'd better prepare for a serious buttkicking. Yes, prepare your fat ass, Matthew! (Name not changed to protect the butthead). Anyhoo, after my brief glorious sojourn in the office, I'm back in the kitchen and working stupid hours again. Sucks, but at least it's cash (and I got a raise, too!).

2. Hanging out with Ian. Yay!!! He's doing okay, and is going back to uni in a few weeks. It's his last year at McGill, and he's got a huge recital at the end of the year. That boy is just too talented. *swoon*

3. Swing. Our performance team has almost finished our intensive 10 week rehearsal period (we're doing three days a week at the mo). We had our first public performance on the weekend (although Anne, Carl, Jean-Francois and I danced at a fundraiser a few weeks ago which absolutely went off!) at the St-Catherine Sidewalk Sale. It went okay, except that Jean-Francois and I were dancing right in a pothole. Gotta love outdoor performances! Anyway, we've got a name now - "Chabada" - it's a play on the french for cat (chat) because our school is called Cat's Corner... okay it wasn't my pick for a name, but apparently it works much better to francophones. *shrug*. We've got a gig for about a thousand people at a huge salsa festival on Sunday - hope it goes okay (eep!).

4. Montreal Jazz Festival. It was a pretty crazy time here - the weather was disastrously hot and humid, and it made the dancing unbearable. There were a couple of huge gigs, and the blues show we went to at one of the big outdoor stages was amazing. Good times, good times.

5. Getting ready for Moira and Simon to arrive! The get here on Sunday, and I can't wait! They're here for about four days, and then the three of us (Ian can't come :( ) are heading off to Toronto for a yaysuperfun trip!! I've never been there - it's going to be so sweeeeet!!! Huzzah! So that's the round-up - not very interesting, but there it is! And now I shall leave you with a final thought...

Hooray!

Monday Photo - Wheeee!!

I took this pic during a run through of our swing performance team's charleston rountine. I love how you can see Olivier and Vicki so clearly in the mirror. Swingy!
